When you find remote work through our marketplace, Overpass acts as a payment facilitator. Read on to learn exactly what that means!
How Will I Be Paid?
Our primary and preferred method for contractor payment is PayPal. Using PayPal allows Overpass to instantly transfer funds to you on a regular basis, without requiring you to provide us with your bank information.
If you already use PayPal, great! If not, simply navigate to www.paypal.com and sign up for a free, personal account. Once your account has been created, navigate back to your Overpass profile and enter the email address that you used for PayPal in the Payment Settings section of your profile. Your PayPal email address does not need to be the same as the email you log into Overpass with (although it's fine if it is).
When Will I Be Paid?
Contractors are paid every Thursday, typically between 5:00 - 7:00 PM Eastern time. We process all compensation individually, so the exact time you receive your pay will vary slightly from week to week.
Our payment period runs from Monday through Sunday. So on Thursday, you will receive payment for all hours worked up to and including the previous Sunday.
Does Overpass Deduct Any Fees?
Overpass does not apply any fees whatsoever to your hourly rate. If your rate is set at $15/hour, we invoice the client for exactly $15 for every hour you worked during the previous pay period, and send that exact amount to you.
Please note that PayPal and TransferWise do apply minor fees for use of their online services. Unfortunately we are not able to avoid those, and we apologize for any frustration.
What if I Can't Use PayPal?
PayPal is not currently supported in all countries. For contractors living in an area where PayPal is not available, our secondary payment system is TransferWise.
Please note that this option is only allowed for contractors living in those affected countries.

What If I Have An Issue With My Weekly Payment?
We highly prioritize payment accuracy and want to ensure that all contractors are paid fairly and in a timely manner. You can help us meet this goal by checking your daily summary emails, and letting us know right away if anything looks amiss!
When you receive your payment, if you believe something is incorrect, don't panic. Just contact our billing team (firstname.lastname@example.org) with an explanation of your situation, and as much detail and context as you can provide. We promise to do our best to resolve all billing concerns as promptly as possible.
